About Us

Our Origin

At OZ Damascus, our story is one of heritage, integrity, and relentless pursuit of quality. Founded by a group of artisans and adventurers who share a deep respect for history and nature, we set out to revive the timeless art of Damascus steel forging and pair it with responsibly sourced hardwood from northern Pakistan. Every axe, hammer, and knife we craft is a testament to centuries old techniques, modern precision, and a commitment to sustainability.

Our journey begins in the Karakoram foothills, where local forest stewards selectively harvest ash, walnut, and maple wood each piece chosen for its strength, straight grain, and natural beauty. Meanwhile, in the workshops of Damascus, Syria, master smiths fold and weld layer upon layer of high carbon steel to create blades renowned for their unique rippled patterns, exceptional toughness, and edge retention. By combining these two worlds, we offer tools that not only perform at the highest level but also carry with them a lineage of craftsmanship and environmental responsibility.

Craftsmanship You Can See and Feel

  • Hand‑Forged Damascus Steel
Each blade and head is folded, welded, and hammered by hand to create the distinctive ripples that define Damascus steel. This process yields extraordinary strength, flexibility, and edge‑retention qualities every serious woodsman or outdoors enthusiast demands.

  • Hand‑Carved Hardwood Handles
From initial block to final contour, every handle is carved, sanded, and oil‑finished by our Pakistani artisans. The result is a naturally grippy, ergonomically balanced tool that fits your hand like it was made for you.

Sustainable by Design

We believe great tools shouldn’t come at the expense of the planet. That’s why:

  • For each handle harvested, a sapling is planted in the same forest.

  • A portion of every sale funds reforestation and community training programs.

  • We use only eco‑friendly oils and finishes to treat our wood.

Transparent Production

From raw materials to finished product, we invite you behind the scenes:

  1. Traceable Batch Numbers for both steel and wood.

  2. Progress Photos during forging and assembly, so you see your tool take shape.

  3. Lifetime Support if your tool ever fails under normal use, we’ll repair, replace, or refund it.

Our Commitment to You

OZ Damascus is more than a brand; it’s a promise. A promise that every axe swing, every timber split, and every campsite meal prepared with our knives is backed by a legacy of craftsmanship, a dedication to sustainability, and a commitment to your satisfaction.

Thank you for joining us on this journey. We’re honored to forge the tools that help you make your mark whether at home, in the workshop, or out in the wild.
